ABOUT LAURIE

I love cooking and how it brings the opportunity to be creative, feed your body the nutrients it needs and the satisfaction it brings in making it yourself. I also love cooking for others and being able to share healthy, nutritious meals. Growing up, my family ate dinner every night together and it was always a home cooked meal prepared together by my parents. My dad did the grilling and my mom made the side dishes. My mom always instilled healthy eating growing up and I am forever grateful. We weren't allowed to eat sugary cereals or drink soda and I always had to finish my veggies. And by veggies I mean broccoli (it was the only veggie I would eat as a kid, so my mom made it EVERY night..).

I'm known as the friend who never fails to please the crowd at a potluck and the one you can count on baking the birthday boy or girl's favorite dessert. I'm also the friend that's always in workout clothes and eats super healthy. In November of 2012 I cut out all dairy, gluten and processed foods. I started my journey with a Whole30 and had never felt better in my life! Most of my recipes are Paleo, but the occasional gluten free and glutinous treats are sure to make an appearance. For years my friends and family had been telling me I should have a blog, so I finally started investing the time in creating one. Let me tell you, it takes way more time and patience than I ever imaged! But I couldn't be happier with having a place to share my recipes and love for food and cooking. As someone who lives a healthy lifestlye by working out 5-6 days a week and eating whole foods and avoiding processed ones, I hope I can inspire you to get creative with food, eat healthier and feel better!
